The Christmas Concert is a mixture of musical groups at Ratton performing Christmas pieces for one hour and twenty minutes. Usually over a 100 students perform from Jazz ensemble, Ratton Players, Choirs and ensemble groups. The event is usually sold out. There is also a condensed version for community assemblies.

Guys and Dolls
Following the success of the whole-school production of School of Rock, the Performing Arts team are pleased to announce that there will be a production next year of Guys and Dolls, an American musical set in New York in the 1950s. All students are invited to take part in what looks set to be a largescale, exciting production. There will be opportunities for actors, singers and dancers.
An informal evening concert on the theme of Sky, involving dance and music items. The concert is open to all students and is an opportunity for young performers to experience being part of a concert at Ratton.
An evening of Irish music and dancing to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.Traditional Irish set dances, ballads, recitals and live music, as well as some audience participation in a group Ceili Dance!
The Year 10 BTEC Music students are involved in the Young Enterprise project. Over the course of the year, the students set up a company and choose a product to create and sell. Students develop a variety of skills, such as communication, teamwork, marketing and business planning. The students compete against other teams in the town to try to reach the national finals. Last year, the team won two awards for Best Company Report and Best Company Structure.
The Birthday Party – Harold Pinter (Studio 216)
Year 10 and Year 11 students have the opportunity to extend their acting range in challenging and exciting scripted and devised work. Those that are part of this exciting process often produce work of A* standard. At Ratton, extra-curricular work can also count as 30% coursework.
